Course summary
If you bake bread at home then this fabulous “all-new” workshop is for you.
Our local sourdough enthusiasts, Michael & Therese who have taught the popular Basic Sourdough Bread making class at YCC for many years will show you that there is so much more you can do with a sourdough culture than just use it to make a loaf of bread. As usual, the workshop is hands-on right from the start.
In this workshop, you are shown how to make and bake sourdough crackers from scratch. To allow your crackers to cool, you can do a taste test of the teacher’s SD crackers. Once your crackers are cooled, you can bag your own as a gift or a take home snack. They are quite moreish and are guaranteed to become a favourite!
Let’s build on your basic sourdough-making skills and learn how versatile sourdough can actually be.
All ingredients and recipes will be provided(you won’t receive an SD culture).
Suitable for anybody who wants to build on their basic sourdough-making skills.

About the tutor
Retired teacher Michael and his wife Therese are home bakers and have been so for more than forty years. Michael’s baking passion is bread and he’s been making sourdough since a culture was gifted to him nearly 20 years ago. It is this culture which he is still using and sharing with his classes. Michael aims to demystify the sourdough process and show that it is more than suited to the humble domestic kitchen and fits very easily into a busy lifestyle… and fresh from the oven, nothing tastes better.
