About the tutor

Kim Hoa Tram, Chinese-Vietnamese, is a Zen artist living in Yarraville.  As a Zen artist, ink painting is his style as well as Chinese calligraphy. In the past he has travelled and held his solo exhibitions in many countries.

The art of Kim Hoa Tram is spiritual and poetic. Kim draws inspiration from traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and the wisdom of Zen (Chan is Chinese), which he studied for many years. Kim has discovered himself to and has undertaken a journey of artistic and spiritual discoveries.

His works have been collected by the NGA (National Gallery of Australia), NGV, Queensland Art Gallery, and many private collectors.  In 2008, he was chosen by NGV to hold the exhibition called “Moon in Reflection”.
