Art Therapy for Teens Affected by Anxiety and Social Isolation

Course summary

Group Art therapy is a powerful way of supporting the well-being of teenagers who are faced with anxiety, self-esteem issues, and social isolation.

This workshop invites teens to participate in 3 different art-making exercises based on the intention of exploring their inner thoughts of anxiety, worry, and isolation. They will be using mixed media (oil pastels, crayons, soft pastels, charcoal) to express themselves.

They will explore and gain insight into their behaviours and thought patterns, to develop skills to cope with life’s challenges.

The group will be held in an open art room space, where participants are welcome to engage in conversation with other participants while they create.
