Are you a Pho enthusiast or a home cook eager to elevate your Vietnamese cuisine culinary skills? If so, this class is perfect for you!

In this fun and interactive workshop, you will immerse yourself in the art of crafting authentic beef pho.  You will gain hands-on experience with essential techniques and ingredients while discovering the rich cultural significance behind this iconic Vietnamese dish. By the end of the class, you will have the confidence and skills to recreate a delicious bowl of beef pho at home.

But that’s not all!  You will also learn to make mouthwatering prawn spring rolls for an entrée and a refreshing café sua da to take away. This wholesome experience will leave you with a delicious pho dinner to nourish your body and soul, a fragrant refreshing Café sua da to awaken your sense, and a wonderful new skill to add to your culinary adventure.

  • overview of the essential ingredients: broth, noodles, herbs, and meat
  • understanding pho broth
  • selecting the right cuts of beef (bones, brisket, and flank)
  • roasting aromatics: onions, ginger, and spices (star anise, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom)
  • the slow simmer process: how to achieve a clear, rich, and flavourful broth
  • tips for balancing the flavour profile of the broth
  • techniques for cooking rice noodles to the perfect texture
  • slicing beef for optimal tenderness and presentation
  • how to assemble the meat for the pho (raw, cooked, and garnished elements)
  • traditional and creative garnishes: bean sprouts, thai basil, cilantro, lime, jalapeños, and hoisin sauce
  • proper layering: how to arrange noodles, meat, and broth for an appealing presentation
  • how to serve pho to enhance the dining experience

For seven years, Kate ran a successful baking business specialising in macarons, custom-made cookies, cakes, and desserts for all occasions. Her enthusiasm for creating wholesome yet visually stunning dishes shines through in every recipe.
