Over the last four years, we have seen Sokha flourish into the successful woman and mother she is today. Here is her story…
“I was born in Cambodia and I speak Khmer. In 2012 I met an Australian man and in 2019 we got married and settled into life in Melbourne. In 2019, I started learning English at the Yarraville Community Centre in Footscray. I knew I needed to undertake further training to get an ongoing job in Australia, so in April 2021, I enrolled in to the ‘Skills for Work and Study: Aged Care’ pathway course.
This course really prepared me to study the CHC33015 Cert III Individual Support (Aged Care & HACCS).
Finishing my course was delayed by a few months because I gave birth to my beautiful little girl. After my baby was about 6 months old, I returned to YCC to finish off the last parts of my certificate course, including the practical placement component at an aged care facility in Kingsville. I am now a fully qualified Personal Care Attendant and am working in the aged care industry.”
We congratulate you Sokha and wish you all the very best for your bright future.
